Frances Truscott

We are very sad to announce the sudden and unexpected death of Frances Truscott founder and regeneration principal of Future Perspectives.

Frances brought a passion to her work that was reflected in the ethos of Future Perspectives. She made particularly powerful and unique contributions on enabling community engagement in addressing climate change and on surfacing the value of intangibles produced by the voluntary and community sectors. Her sharp intellect and open friendliness made her a skilled researcher, able to engage effortlessly with the people in the board room or on the street. Her cross sectoral knowledge enabled her to develop both a broad overview and to pinpoint detailed issues of particular interest or concern.

Frances wove a number of strands into her career. She held senior roles in a variety of business organisations and spent a more reflective time working in a university. She had one hundred and eighty degrees of practical regeneration experience, having been both an international consultant in countries of the former Soviet Union, and a project co-ordinator developing a network of small businesses in her home region of Cornwall, UK.

Frances held degrees from both the University of Cambridge and the London Business School, was a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and an honorary fellow of the University of Westminster.

She was an active participant in a wide range of networks and co-chaired the practitioner group of the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research. In her local community she chaired the board of the Acorn Arts Centre as well as working with other local resident volunteers in an NRF funded neighbourhood regeneration project. She was a council guide with Ehama Institute, an organisation working to enhance balance and wholeness.

Frances will be sorely missed by her friends and colleagues around the world.
